Happ Put on DL, Romero Returns

Phillies' lefties swap spots

Looks like J.A. Happ will be missing more than just one start for the Phightins.

The Phillies put the left-hander on the 15-day disabled Thursday list with a strained forearm.

The Phillies activated lefty reliever J.C. Romero. He was at Triple-A Lehigh Valley recovering from offseason left elbow surgery.

Happ threw in the bullpen on Thursday before being placed on the disabled list. The move was made retroactive to April 16.

Happ is 1-0 and hasn't allowed an earned run in 10 1-3 innings in two starts. He was 12-4 as a rookie last year.

Romero adds a veteran left-handed presence to the Phillies pen. They had gone through the season with unproven Antonio Bastardo as their only left-handed relief option.

Righty Nelson Figueroa will start in Happ's place Saturday at Arizona.
