Battleground Pennsylvania

The first Battle for the Keystone State in 2009 will happen Tuesday night as the Philadelphia Flyers skate against the Pittsburgh Penguins at the Wachovia Center.
Pennsylvania has been hockey central since these two titans clashed in the 2008 NHL Eastern Conference Finals. Pittsburgh came out on top and Philly has been vowing revenge.
Whatever the result on the ice Tuesday the big battle for Pennsylvania may get to be settled in Tampa in February?
Happy Valley could be bursting at the seems Sunday night should both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Philadelphia Eagles do what favorites are supposed to do -- win.
The possibility of finally getting an all-Pa. Super Bowl has fans on both sides of the Turnpike wound up with excitement.
Eagles' Green vs. The Terrible Towel!
The cheesesteak vs. the pierogi!
Yards vs. Iron City!
The Eagles Cheerleaders vs. the Steelers Cheerleaders -- oh yeah, they haven't had any since the Steelerettes in the '60s!
Ed Rendell vs. Ed Rendell?
It's going to be crazy if an Eagles/Steelers Super Bowl finally happens after near misses twice earlier this decade when both teams made their conference championship games but both teams didn't advance.
The third time should be the charm, so expect the great clash of Pa.
Here in Philadelphia the choice will be easy -- Fly Eagles, Fly. But, in some parts of the Commonwealth (like Penn State) the community could be torn along rooting interests.
The fans inside the "Pennsylvania T" will need to make a tough choice of bleeding Eagles' Green or donning Steelers' Gold.
The Battle for Pennsylvania, though, starts with the choice between Flyers' Orange or Penguin's Black.
