A Hard Time For Delivery Trucks

More Photos and Videos

Starting today, only delivery trucks can park in the morning on some Center City Streets.

Only delivery vehicles can stop along Walnut and Chestnut Streets from 6 to 10 a.m. After that, only regular vehicles can park on those streets while delivery trucks must park in designated spots on nearby numbered streets.

The goal is to reduce double parking of trucks, which clogs these key arteries during the day, according to parking officials.

The Philadelphia Parking Authority spent the last week giving out warning notices. Now, illegally stopped vehicles will be ticketed and fined $76 -- vehicles in violation will be towed starting next week.
