A cable worker was found dead while standing on a ladder leaning against a utility pole in North Jersey.
Officials said that 31-year-old Comcast worker Michael Alfaro, of Carteret, was found unresponsive by utility workers responding to reports of a power outage in Glen Ridge.
PSE&G spokeswoman Brooke Fisher said the workers used their pole rescue training to try to bring Alfaro down, but that he was pronounced dead a short time later after emergency workers responded to the scene.
Comcast is the parent company of NBC Universal and NBC10.
