A woman was fatally struck on West Main Street (Route 113) west of Lawndale Avenue after attempting to catch her dog that had run off.
Hilltown police responded to a call of a traffic accident involving a struck pedestrian on October 16 at approximately 11:08 a.m.
Jan McCormick, of Silverdale, stepped into the eastbound lane from the center of the roadway and was struck by a Chevrolet HHR driven by Sharon Kawaguchi, of Telford. Kawaguchi was unable to see McCormick due to shadowing and the color of McCormick’s clothing, according to police.
McCormick was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem for treatment of her injuries. On October 26, Hilltown Police were notified that McCormick had passed.
The investigation is complete and no charges were filed.
