Teen Brothers Shot, Killed in Overbrook Home

Person of interest is identified, but no arrest made

Two brothers, 13 and 17-years-old, were shot inside a home Tuesday night on the 1300 block of Westbury Drive in the Overbrook Park section of Philadelphia.

Police say they have a person of interest, but investigators aren't releasing the person's name.  No arrests have been made.

Rohan Bennett, 13, was found dead inside the home. He had been shot in the chest several times.  His older brother Christopher Malcolm, 17, was shot in the head and chest. He died at hospital.

Police tell NBC10 an unidentified man was let into their house around 7:30 and met with the teens in the living room.

"Something at that point triggered a chain of events, where he pulled out a gun, shot and killed the 17-year old in the living room. He then shot the 13-year old as he went to run away" said Captain James Clark.

According to investigators, their father and an 18-year old cousin were upstairs. Their mother wasn't home.

Police believe the shooting could be drug related. $102,000 in cash, six guns and 17-hundred prescription pills were discovered inside the home, said investigators.

Detectives are interviewing the boys' parents and cousin. They expect to charge the parents in connection with the weapons, cash and drugs found in their bedroom.
