Delaware State Police troopers are investigating an attempted robbery that happened in the parking lot of a church in Wilmington.

Troopers say it happened Friday around 8 p.m. in the parking lot of the Holly Oak Calvary United Methodist Church on Philadelphia Pike. Troopers say a 26-year-old woman was getting out of her car when she was approached by a man who pointed a gun at her and demanded property and cash. Troopers say the woman did not comply and the man fled on foot.

Troopers say the suspect is between 40 and 50 years old and last seen wearing dark clothing and a knit hat. The woman was uninjured.
