This Is Where Kids Can Shoot Automatic Weapons

There are dozens of gun ranges across the United States that allow children shoot automatic weapons, according to a survey by The Daily Beast. One of those ranges is in our area.

The findings raise questions about whether there should be an age requirement to use such weapons at gun ranges. You must be 18 to buy a gun, but there's no limits on age as long as an adult supervises.

The Daily Beast conducted the survey in the wake of the tragic shooting of an Arizona gun instructor by a 9-year-old girl. The shooting was caught-on-video and posted online. The girl, who was originally from New Jersey, said the mini-Uzi she was using was too much for her. The automatic gun recoil caused her to lose control and shoot instructor Charles Vacca in the head. He later died.

According to the report, the publication found 58 gun ranges across the country allow children to shoot automatic weapons. Some ranges had no age requirement at all.

Targetmaster Gun Range in Chadds Ford, Pa. allows kids 12 and older to use a gun, but that its on a case-by-case basis, according to The Daily Beast.
