A teenage girl is in the hospital after she nearly drowned inside a pool at a Delaware County apartment complex.
The 14-year-old girl was inside a pool at the La Maison Apartment Complex on the 200 block of Sugartown Road in Wayne, Pennsylvania Monday afternoon.
According to a witness, she was in the deep end of the pool and went under water. Other children noticed the girl’s goggles floating at the surface while the girl remained under.
The witness says the children notified the lifeguard who had just come on duty after a shift change. The lifeguard immediately jumped in, pulled the girl out and performed CPR on her.
The lifeguard was able to resuscitate the teen, according to the witness.
The girl was airlifted to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Officials have not yet revealed her condition.
According to investigators, the girl was visiting the complex. Officials have not yet revealed whether the girl was by herself or with her parents at the time of the near-drowning.
