A security guard shot and killed a man following an altercation at a bar in Philadelphia early Sunday morning, police said.
The incident happened about 2:15 a.m. at The Old Madrid Bar at N. 5th Street and W. Fisher Avenue in the city’s Olney section.
A fight broke out inside the bar, police say, and a security guard escorted a 29-year-old man out of the establishment.
Police say the 29-year-old charged at the guard with an unidentified object. The guard, according to police, pulled out a gun and shot the male.
The male was pronounced dead. His identity was not immediately released.
The security guard was taken to police headquarters for questioning.
So far, no charges have been filed.
