Police on Sunday morning were investigating a shooting that left a man dead in Philadelphia's Hunting Park section.
Officers responded to an alley behind Park Avenue near Erie about 2:30 a.m. and found the 29-year-old victim suffering from gunshot wounds, police said. The victim, whose identity was not released on Sunday, was pronounced dead by medics at the scene.
Police said they did not have an arrest or motive in the shooting on Sunday morning and were continuing to investigate the deadly shooting.
According to police statistics, as of Oct. 10, there have been 212 homicides this year in Philadelphia -- a 7 percent increase from the same date last year, when there were 198 homicides, and a 10 percent increase from 2013, when there were 193.
