The Philadelphia region saw its numbers among the richest Americans decline this year. Forbes Magazine Monday released its annual Forbes 400, and seven have Philadelphia connections — compared to nine last year.
Richard Yuengling Jr., owner of D.G. Yuengling & Son in Pottsville (we’re stretching the Philadelphia region a bit for his inclusion) fell off the list after ranking at 371 last year.
Sidney Kimmel, ranked 386 last year, is also no longer part of the list. But don’t feel too bad for either man, as both are still listed as millionaires.
Comcast CEO Brian Roberts also just missed the cut with a net wealth of $1.3 billion.
That select group ranges in age from 42 to 82. Some of them no longer live here. One never has but still owns a major local business. Some inherited their wealth while others are self-made billionaires. Read full story here.
