SEPTA Officers Hurt in Crash While Responding to Stabbing at Station

Two SEPTA police officers are recovering after they collided with another vehicle Saturday night while responding to a stabbing at a SEPTA station.

Investigators say two people were fighting on the Market Frankford Line at 15th Street Station around 8:30 p.m. One of the people involved then stabbed the other before fleeing the scene.

Two SEPTA Police officers received a report of the stabbing. As they drove to the SEPTA station they collided with another vehicle at 3rd and Market streets, officials said. The two officers as well as the driver of the other vehicle all suffered back and knee injuries and were taken to the hospital.

Other officers were able to apprehend the suspect in the stabbing. Police have not yet revealed his or her identity. The stabbing victim was taken to Hahnemann Hospital. Officials have not yet revealed his or her condition.
