The owners of an 11-month Chihuahua are frantically searching for her after she was stolen from their parked car in Center City early Sunday morning.

Cindy Escobedo and Johnny Alexander say their three-pound family dog, Bambi, was snatched from their car parked at 15th and Race Street. They say thieves smashed-out the back window of their black Mercedes SUV and grabbed her. Bambi was in a dog carrier that looked like a purse.

The pair was visiting a friend’s house nearby during the alleged robbery.

“I haven’t slept since...I haven’t eaten I haven’t done anything but look for her. I am completely devastated. This is just the most awful day and I just really want my dog back,” Escobedo said.

Investigators say nothing else was taken from the car.

The owners are offering at $2,500 reward for Bambi’s safe return.
