Power Nearly Back In Del.

Less than 300 Delmarva customers still in the dark

Delmarva Power says that it has almost completely restored power to 20,000 customers in Delaware and Maryland who had their electricity knocked out by Friday's severe thunderstorms.

As of 10 a.m. Sunday, Delmarva reported that less than 300 people in New Castle County and Cecil County, Maryland were still without power. The utility expected that power would be fully restored Sunday afternoon at the latest.

“We are hard at work tackling these localized outages and restoring power to the remaining customers without electricity,” Gary Stockbridge, Delmarva Power Region President, said in a statement. “We will not be satisfied or diminish our efforts until every customer affected by Friday’s storms is restored.”

Customers are asked to remain in contact with Delmarva's call centers and report any outage by dialing 1-800-898-8042.
