A man was detained by police after he allegedly tried to sneak into a restricted area during the Festival of Families Saturday night.

NBC10’s Keith Jones reports the man was trying to climb the stairs in an area designated for the media near the Festival of Families front stage off Eakins Oval.

Police officers quickly placed the man in handcuffs and led him away.

The man was holding a double-sided sign that was a mix of English and Spanish. One side of the sign reads, “Pope Intelligence Test,” while the other side says, “Pope Francis: With the power given to you by God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, make me a priest.”
