Man Dead in Southwest Philly Shooting

Hospital officials pronounced a 24-year-old man dead following a shooting in southwest Philadelphia Tuesday morning.

The victim was hit by gunfire on the 2100 block of Taney Terrace -- near Snyder Avenue and 27th Street -- around 9:30 a.m., according to reports.

He was rushed to the Hospital of University of Pennyslvania, where he was pronounced dead, according to officials.

Police have not released a motive for the homicide. An investigation is underway.
