Wilmington police say a West Grove, Pa. man was killed when he was hit by a car that drove up onto the sidewalk.
The car was involved in three separate hit-and-run crashes with other vehicles before police say a 1992 black Mercedes ran a red light, ran up on the sidewalk in the 700 block of Shipley Street, where it hit a parking meter and Christopher W. White, 48, around 4 p.m. Wednesday.
The car came to rest 30 feet away and three men inside got out and ran off. None of them have been found.
White was taken to Christiana Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Police say none of the people in the vehicles that were struck were injured.
