Philly Pizza Shop Named One of America's Best by Thrillist

In a great pizza town like Philadelphia, I'm stunned that people order from big corporate chains like Papa John's or Pizza Hut. It's like ordering a hoagie from Subway when there's likely a great hoagie shop around the corner. Why sell yourself (and your taste buds) short?

In a city with pizza shops like Tacconelli's, Rustica, Pizza Brain, Gianfranco's and Slice, the idea of a Domino's delivery (or heaven forbid a frozen pizza) should be appalling.

Now that I'm through ranting, on to the reason for the story. Thrillist came out with its list of the 33 best pizza shops in the United States, and Gennaro's Tomato Pie was the lone Philadelphia restaurant to make the list. Here's what Thrillist had to say about the South Philadelphia pizza shop.
