New Jersey Protesters Want to End Bear Hunt

The protesters say they're going to bring vegan doughnuts to try to lure Gov. Chris Christie to speak with them. That certainly won't work, because Christie is scheduled to be in Canada on Thursday.

Members of an animal rights group are planning to head to Trenton to protest the state's legal bear hunt.

The protest by Friends of Animals is scheduled for Thursday.

The advocates object to a practice in which hunters bait bears with junk food and then shoot them. They say it increases conflicts because it exposes bears to human food.

The annual bear hunt season is scheduled for Dec. 8-13.
