Money for Minority Farmers in Delaware

$400K grant helps farmer's in Delaware

Delaware State University is getting a grant to help minority farmers. The $400K grant will be used by the office that educates farmers on how to apply for federal loans and subsidies to finance and improve their crops.

The money from the U.S. Department of Agriculture will let the university help an additional 200 farmers over the next year. The money could allow the school to help local growers market their products.

The grant is intended to target minority farmers, who are typically less likely to access benefits from the USDA.
