Police are investigating a kidnapping and sexual assault in West Philadelphia.

Police are investigating a kidnapping and sexual assault in West Philadelphia. Investigators say it happened Saturday around 2:30 a.m. on the 5000 block of Irving Street.

Two masked men allegedly confronted a 48-year-old woman and forced her inside a vehicle. Police say they then took her to an unknown location where they sexually assaulted her and then released her.

The woman was taken to the hospital. Police have not yet revealed her condition.

NBC10 spoke with stunned residents who live near where the alleged incident took place. Josephine and Sheila Collins say they've lived on the block for more than 25 years and that most of their neighbors are women and children.

"I still am shocked," said Josephine Collins. "It's a quiet block. I do have to walk to the house from the car sometimes from around the corner. It's really scary. It really, really is. It gives me pause for being out at night."

"This is something that really is a scary crime," said Sheila Collins. "I just pray that she's okay."

No arrests have been made. Police continue to search for the suspects.
