Community members and Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter gathered Saturday afternoon to support the 11-year-old Kensington girl who was brutally raped last week.

The group came together at McPherson Park, along with Power 99 radio station to bring toys and money to the little girl and show support for her and her family.

Nutter spoke to the community, thanking them for helping police catch the alleged rapist and encouraged them to continue to support the family, as it may be a long road for the girl’s physical and mental recovery.

The family of the rape victim has set up a fund to benefit the 11 year old.  To contribute, go to any Bank of America branch and make a donation to “The Little Angel Fund.”
