Man Killed by Philly-Bound NJ Transit Train

A man who stepped on to the tracks in Pennsauken Tuesday was killed.

NJ Transit train service between Philadelphia and Atlantic City has been temporarily suspended after a man who stepped on to the tracks Tuesday afternoon was killed by a westbound train in Pennsauken.

NJ Transit spokesman John Durso says it's unclear why the man was on the tracks at the Church Road crossing.

None of the 30 passengers on the train were injured when the man was hit about 4:50 p.m. Durso says it's too soon to speculate why the man was on the tracks.

Passengers are being transported by buses until police can finish investigating.
