Police say the victim suffered gunshot wounds to the back and buttocks.

Police are investigating the death of a man found lying face down in the backyard of a home in Chester.

On Sunday, around 9:30 a.m., police were dispatched to a home the 200 block of Ivy Street. When they arrived they found a 22-year-old man lying face down, suffering from gunshot wounds to the back and buttocks. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say police previously responded to the area around 2:15 a.m. on Sunday for a report of shots fired but found nothing at that time.

Police have identified the victim but won’t release his name until his family members are notified. No arrests have been made. Police continue to search for suspects.
