A man on a bike ride in Wilmington, Del. was arrested after police say the convicted felon was carrying a semi-automatic handgun.

Police say Desmond Scott, 21, of Wilmington, was on a bicycle on the 2800 block of Northeast Boulevard last night when officers noticed his bike didn't have a light.

When they tried to pull alongside him, they say Scott jumped off the bike and took off running.

Police say Scott was carrying a 40 caliber Hi-Point semi-automatic handgun.

He was taken into custody and is currently being held on $32,000 cash bail.
