Man Allegedly Harassed Trooper's Mother After Stop

A 76-year-old Pennsylvania man is on trial for charges he harassed a state trooper who pulled him over for speeding in a car with license plates indicating he was from the โ€œKingdom of God.โ€

Blair County prosecutors say Don Ickes, of Fishertown, which is about 100 miles west of Harrisburg, doesn't believe in vehicle laws and flashed a Florida license that police later determined he got fraudulently.

The incident happened on Interstate 99 on July 18, 2011, and resulted in the trooper smashing Ickes' window to drag Ickes from his vehicle, which was impounded.

The trial was continuing Wednesday. The Altoona Mirror reports the trial began Tuesday with jurors watching a video of the stop recorded by the trooper's dashboard camera.

Ickes was charged with harassment for allegedly calling the trooper's mother and sending the trooper a $30,000 โ€œbillโ€ for confiscating the vehicle.
