Limo Driver Shot, Killed in Olney

A limo driver was shot dead in the city's Olney section Thursday night.

Police arrived on the scene near the Olney Train Station to find Jorge Luis Morales Quiles slumped over in his a Chrysler 300, said Philadelphia Chief Inspector Scott Small.

Morales Quiles, a driver for Condor Group Taxi Limousine service, was off-duty when he was shot and killed while sitting at a stop sign the corners of Tabor Rd. and Mascher St., officials said.

Police believe he may have gotten into an argument with two men while stopped and that one of the men opened fire, striking the car at least five times and the man once in his leg, possibly hitting his femoral artery.

"We don't know exactly what happened, but it's sad," said Condor manager Jose Sanchez.

The vehicle crashed into a telephone pole after the driver was shot, said police.

Both men ran from the scene following the shooting, Small confirmed to NBC10. One was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and the other was dressed in dark clothing.

"There are Septa surveillance cameras also across the street there's an automotive repair business with numerous exterior surveillance cameras," said Small.

"He was a good man, a hardworking man," said Sanchez.
