One man is in the hospital while another is in custody after a stabbing and assault with a baseball bat led to a barricade situation in Kensington, according to police.
Police say two suspects stabbed a 32-year-old man several times and assaulted him with a baseball bat on the 3200 block of Kensington Avenue at 12:26 p.m. Saturday. The suspects then ran inside a tattoo parlor on the street and refused to come out, according to investigators. One suspect was armed with a gun while the other was armed with a bat and screwdriver, police said.
A barricade situation was declared but the scene was cleared around 1:30 p.m. Police say at least one of the suspects was taken into custody and they recovered the screwdriver and baseball bat. Police have not yet revealed his identity or the specific charges the suspect faces. They also have not yet revealed whether they are still searching for the second suspect.
The victim was taken to the hospital. Officials have not yet revealed his condition.
