The Philadelphia 76ers ranked 27th out of 30 teams in Forbes' annual analysis of National Basketball Association franchise valuations.
Forbes placed a $700 million value on the Sixers franchise, up from the $469 million it said the team was worth last year.(That's a 49 percent increase.) All the NBA team valuations rose thanks to the league's new $24 billion television contract.
Here's what Forbes had to say about the Sixers, the team with the third worst record in the NBA this season:
"The Sixers lost 80 percent of their games over the past season-and-a-half as the team stockpiles young players and draft picks in an unprecedented tear down....."
