Frankford Fire Possibly Related to Arson

Officials are investigating whether today’s fire at a Frankford apartment building is related to yesterday’s blaze at a vacant home which was determined to be Arson.

Officials are investigating whether today’s fire at a Frankford apartment building is related to yesterday’s blaze at a vacant home which was determined to be Arson.

On Saturday around 6:45 p.m., police responded to a radio call from a resident on the 1600 block of Kinsey Street. When they arrived, they found a vacant property on 1675 Kinsey Street which was fully engulfed. The flames spread to another vacant property next to it as well as an occupied house. Firefighters controlled the blaze and no injuries were reported. The Red Cross is currently assisting two families affected. After investigating the incident, fire marshals determined the blaze was Arson.

On Sunday around noon a two-alarm fire broke out at an apartment complex at the intersection of Unity Street and Paul Street in Frankford. Firefighters At least 10 people were evacuated though no injuries were reported.

Officials say Sunday’s fire could be suspicious. They are currently investigating whether the blaze was Arson and also whether it’s related to Saturday’s fire.
