A 3-year-old child was killed in a freak accident Friday night in Trenton, N.J.

A 3-year-old died in a tragic accident when a fire truck struck a light pole, causing it to fall onto people walking on the sidewalk on Hamilton Avenue in Trenton, NJ., Friday evening.

According to police, the fire truck collided with another truck and then smashed into a light pole as a result. The light pole came crashing down, killing the 3-yearold and injuring several people, including an adult and two other juveniles who were taken to the hospital.

The accident occurred at about 8:30 p.m., closing Route 129 north and southbound. Police say that the road closure will last until Saturday morning.
