Dad Shot in β€œHome Invasion” Attack Was Drug Dealer: Sources

A Montgomery County man shot several times after a surprise attack on his family Wednesday night is an alleged drug dealer, sources tell NBC Philadelphia.

That man and a woman were in their driveway in Upper Gwynedd, getting their two daughters out of the car when a group of approached them and forced them all inside the home, Police Chief David Duffy told The Reporter.

Those men had been hiding in the family's shed and before the ambush, sources say.

A neighbor on Hancock Street said she'd gone to bed after the Flyers game and woke up when she heard popping sounds.

"Then all I heard were sirens," Lori Bennington told the paper.

One of the men who ambushed the family was shot dead inside the home and the dad was shot multiple times. He was rushed to Abington Memorial Hospital for emergency surgery, according to Upper Gwynedd Twp. police.

Three other suspects fled the scene. The woman and two girls were not hurt.
