Ex-Redevelopment Head Set for Pa. Fed Court Date

The former head of a western Pennsylvania city's redevelopment authority was scheduled to appear for arraignment on federal extortion and bribery charges.

Sixty-two-year-old Ronald Repak, of Johnstown, was indicted by a federal grand jury last week on charges he used his influence to obtain a new roof for his home, work that benefited his son's business, and Pittsburgh Steelers tickets.

Repak was fired in February 2013 for allegedly accepting $130,000 in consulting fees from an agency that was working with the redevelopment authority. Repak had been the agency's executive director for 30 years.

Repak has yet to comment on the charges.

He was scheduled to appear before a federal judge in Johnstown on Wednesday.
