Delaware AG Seeks to Close Wilmington-Area Strip Club

The Delaware attorney general's office has filed a court complaint seeking to have a Wilmington-area strip club declared a nuisance and closed permanently.

The complaint filed Wednesday asks that a Superior Court judge declare the Gold Club just outside Wilmington a criminal nuisance property and to order that it be closed.

The complaint follows a fatal shooting outside the club, which authorities say follows a long history of criminal activity on or near the property, including shootings, car thefts, drug possession, assaults and stabbings.

Attorney General Matt Denn said police have been called to the Gold Club more than 230 times in the past four years, and that the club should be closed for public safety reasons.
