Deadline for Tent City Folks to Move Out

The deadline has arrived to close a self-governed homeless settlement that has been home to as many as 100 people in Camden.

But it's not clear what will happen Thursday.

Tent City has been a community on state land between a highway off-ramp and railroad tracks near downtown Camden for about four
years.

Camden County officials said they wanted to move the remaining residents by April 15 and find them new shelters or even permanent
homes.

Some of the residents have resisted.

Earlier this week, about 30 remained, down from twice that many a week ago.
