Board to Vote on Blogging Teacher's Future

The Central Bucks East English teacher who blogged about her students could be out of a job by the end of Tuesday night's school board meeting.

The Central Bucks High School East English teacher who was temporarily suspended in February 2011 after the school district discovered a blog in which she called students "lazy whiners" could be out of a job by night's end.

The School District will vote Tuesday night on whether Natalie Munroe should be releaved of her teaching duties at the high school.

Munroe returned to the classroom last August, much to the dismay of the school's prinicipal and some students and parents.

Before her return, principal Abram Lucabaugh said the only reason she was back at the school was because of her legal rights and the district's refusal to spend taxpayer money on a legal battle.

Munroe feels that she was set up to fail, according to the Patch.com.

"When the district had no legal grounds to fire me in the wake of Bloggate 2011, they tried to make me superfluous by encouraging students and their parents to opt out of my classes," she wrote on her blog in a post published Oct. 17, 2011.
