‘I Need The Money More Than You Do': Armed Man to Employee at Philly Store

"I need the money more than you do!"

Those are the desperate words police say an armed man uttered during the robbery of an auto parts store in Philadelphia.

The incident happened about 8:50 p.m. on August 14 at the Advanced Auto Parts store located at 2210 Island Avenue.

Investigators say the suspect entered the store, pulled out a handgun from his waistband and told an employee to "open the register."

The employee then walked with the suspect to the back of the store where a second employee was counting money.

The suspect said to the employees "I need the money more than you do" and took $2,500 from the desk and drawer.

The suspect then ran out of the store.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
