Animal Remains Found in Northeast Philly

Police say a man walking his dog in Pennypack Park made the discovery.

Police are investigating a grisly discovery in Northeast Philadelphia.

A man walking his dog in Pennypack Park found bags containing animal parts, according to investigators. The bags were scattered among other garbage in a wooded area near Lexington and Solly Avenue.

Police say the remains might be those of goats and chickens. They also ruled that no animal cruelty was involved and claim they may have been killed as part of a religious sacrifice.
