A.C. Tourists Robbed and Assaulted

Police are searching for a an armed robber who targeted two tourists on an Atlantic City street over the weekend.

A couple from Colorado walking in Atlantic City early Sunday morning were robbed and assaulted by a man on a bicycle.

Atlantic City Police told NBC10 the suspect nearly hit the 29-year-old female victim with his bike on the 100 block of North Connecticut Avenue just after 3 a.m. The suspect and the woman exchanged words and the suspect got off his bike and struck the woman in the face, according to investigators.

The woman's male companion, 36, came to her aid and was also assaulted by the suspect, said police.

The suspect then pointed a gun at the couple and demanded money, investigators say they handed over their cash, and the suspect fired two rounds at them.

The man was grazed by a bullet, said police. The woman was not injured.

Investigators describe the suspect as a black male, between 18-22 years of age, 5'7-5'8" tall, dark complexion, thin build, wearing blue jeans, dark grey shirt with American flag on the front and a black hat.
