Two people were hurt in two separate fires in Philadelphia Wednesday night.
One fire occurred on the 500 block of North Simpson Street in the Cobbs Creek section of the city. A man suffered serious burns in the blaze and was taken to the hospital where he is in critical condition.
The second fire occurred on the 4700 block of Cedar Avenue in West Philadelphia. One person was hurt in the blaze though officials have not yet revealed his or her condition.
Both fires were placed under control. Officials continue to investigate the causes.
