Authorities say a $10,000 reward is being offered for information in an apparent road-rage shooting in West Philadelphia that wounded an 8-year-old girl.
Police said they believe an agitated motorist fired the shot Saturday after the girl's father stopped his car to unload the girl and her two younger sisters.
The bullet pierced the back passenger-side window of the stopped car before striking the girl in the head. She is listed in stable condition at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
Mayor Michael Nutter called the shooting and other random gunfire in the city "idiotic."
At a memorial service Wednesday for fallen police officers and firefighters, Nutter announced that the city has put up a $5,000 reward for information in the case and the Fraternal Order of Police has matched that amount.
