Early Intervention May Reduce Autism Symptoms: Study

A new study out of the University of California, Davis indicates the importance of early intervention with autism, and offers clues about what age is right to start treating symptoms of the disorder.

The very small study found that engaging with young children who are believed to have autism could help lessen their symptoms and even reverse them.

The early therapy is believed to help six of the seven children in the study to develop into normal children by the time they grew into toddlers.

The study's findings were published in the Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders, but because of the sample size doctors warn no conclusions can yet be drawn.
