Tax Deadbeats: Time to Come Clean

New Jersey is declaring a tax amnesty and is giving tax delinquents a chance to come clean.

Taxpayers who pay up in the next month could escape some penalties and interest payments.
     
People who are under criminal investigation for state tax violations are not eligible
     
The state is caught in a financial crisis with a budget shortfall expected to top $2 billion over the next 14 months.
     
Governor Jon Corzine hopes the tax amnesty program will help raise at least $100 million.
