PepsiCo plans to reduce calories in the company’s beverages, one of several changes CEO Indra Nooyi is casting as a “tremendous opportunity” for the company.
Specifically, Purchase, New York-based PepsiCo has pledged that at least two-thirds of its drinks will have 100 calories or fewer per 12-ounce serving by 2025, it said in a release issued Monday.
PepsiCo already sells various low-calorie drinks, but the two-thirds goal is lofty given that the company brings in more than $1 billion annually from regular Pepsi, which is made with sugar, CNBC reported.
