Deadly Accident on Atlantic City Expressway

Police were investigating the accident Sunday trying to figure out what happened.

A tragic end to the summer weekend after a car crash along the Atlantic City Expressway left one woman dead and four others hospitalized, according to police.

The accident happened near mile-marker 6 on the westbound Expressway around 2:45 Sunday afternoon.

A car carrying five women and children from Philadelphia lost control and flipped over a guardrail near the Pleasantville exit, said police.

The victims ranged from seven to 47 years old, according to officials.

One adult passenger died from her injuries. Four other victims were taken to a local hospital, police on the scene said.

Police were investigating the incident trying to figure out what happened.
