Melissa Gilbert and pro-dancing partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy chat about the talk that they will be the couple to beat. Do they agree? Plus, what has been the biggest challenge for the duo so far? And, how is Melissa's previously injured back holding up?
Melissa Gilbert was rushed to the hospital during Monday’s edition of “Dancing with the Stars” and later revealed she suffered a “mild” concussion and whiplash.
"I'm alright," she tweeted. "Mild concussion and whiplash. Very soon I will be safely home resting and being taken care of."
She also thanked competitor Gavin DeGraw for “carrying me down those stairs” and tweeted that pro partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy was her “champion," People reported.
It wasn’t clear exactly when Gilbert hurt herself during ABC’s dancing competition.
Host Tom Bergeron announced during the broadcast that the 47-year-old "Little House on the Prairie" star had “injured herself” and was being rushed to the hospital as a “precaution.”
Moments earlier judge Bruno Tonioli had called Gilbert’s paso doble to The White Stripes' "Conquest" her "best performance by far."
Gilbert wrote in her exclusive People blog before Monday's show that "this week of 'Dancing' has been a killer."
She has also reportedly sustained a burn on her ankle, as well as various cuts, scrapes and sore muscles during her time on “Dancing.”
