โ€œRingingโ€ in the First Win

Phillies pull out miraculous late game win

Do you believe World Championship Rings have magic?

Well, the Phillies quite possibly made a believer out of many Wednesday.

They climbed out of a seven run hole in the bottom of the 7th and stole their first win as defending world champs.

The Philles scored eight runs in the 7th, including four runs scored on walks with the bases loaded.

It had to be the ring.

The Braves bullpen just collapsed as the Phils exploded to take an amazing 11 โ€“ 10 lead.

The Fightin' Phils were down 10 -3

It had to be the ring.

It seemed that the Phillies just were offensively starved in the first two games, but all of a sudden lighting struck through their bats.

It had to be the ring.

Perhaps, it was the good karma of Pat Burrell, who joined his old team to pick up his mammoth 2008 Championship ring.

It was Burrellโ€™s replacement, Raul Ibanez, who jolted the Philsโ€™ offense with a two-run homer that tied the game at 2 in the 2nd. It was his first homer as a Phillie.

Ibanez added an RBI during the crazy 7th inning rally and also scored a tack-on run in the 8th to bring the score to 12 -10.

It turned out to be a huge run.

Brad Lidge surprisingly gave up a home run in the top of the 9th that cut the Phils newfound lead to 1.

But no-worries Lidge got the save and the Phils pulled out a miracle 12-11 win.

It had to be the ring.
