Eagles Reportedly Sign RB Boston Scott Off Saints' Practice Squad

On Monday afternoon, Doug Pederson said the Eagles were awaiting MRI results on Corey Clement's injured knee.

This news doesn't sound good.

With just three games left in the 2018 season, it seems like the Eagles might not get Clement back. So they're signing a guy named Boston Scott.

OK, so who is Boston Scott?

He's a 23-year-old rookie running back from Louisiana Tech. The Saints took him in the sixth round (pick 201), but he has spent most of the season on their practice squad.

With Darren Sproles and Donnel Pumphrey already in the building, Scott is yet another smaller back. He's just 5-foot-7, 195 pounds.

Scott had a breakout senior season in 2017, rushing for 1,047 yards and eight touchdowns. He also has receiving ability. He caught 20 passes for 181 yards and a touchdown last season too.

The Eagles have serious questions at the running back position going forward, so this might be a chance for Scott to impress enough and maybe stick around next season. Corey Clement and Josh Adams will probably be back next season, but after that, things are up in the air.
