The Eagles will be without a couple starters when they take the practice field on Wednesday morning to begin preparations for the Vikings.
Jason Kelce (left foot plantar fasciitis), Bennie Logan (left groin strain), Ron Brooks (calf contusion) and Marcus Smith (right groin strain) will all miss Wednesday’s practice, according to head coach Doug Pederson.
On Monday, Pederson said Logan’s injury was more significant and the defensive tackle was “week to week.” If Logan can’t play on Sunday, defensive tackle Beau Allen would likely be the starter and play quite a bit more than he’s used to.
While the Eagles will be without a couple starters on Wednesday, they will get one back. Cornerback Leodis McKelvin will practice after missing Sunday’s game. He worked out on Sunday morning in Washington, but couldn’t go.
With Kelce out on Wednesday, veteran Stefen Wisniewski will take first-team reps at center. Wisniewski has been disappointed that the Eagles decided to start Halapoulivaati Vaitai at right tackle instead of the original plan that would have moved Allen Barbre to right tackle and put Wisniewski at left guard.
“It is what it is right now,” Pederson said on Wednesday, when asked about Wisniewski’s disappointment. “It’s our decision. And we’ve made that decision. And he’s a valuable asset to our team. If Kelce goes down or Barbre or one of the guards go down, he’s the next guy in and that’s just where we’re at. We’ll just continue to go that route each week.”
